The First International Symposium on Computational Biology with AI

The 1st International Symposium on Computational Biology with AI (iscbAI’25), organized by ISCB-China, will take place from May 30 to June 2, 2025, at the Tsinghua Southeast Asia Center in Bali, Indonesia. This inaugural event will bring together global academics, researchers, and industry leaders to explore the cutting-edge convergence of artificial intelligence (AI) and biosciences, with a focus on computational biology. The symposium aims to showcase the latest advancements and future directions in the use of AI for understanding DNA, RNA, proteins, multi-omics, systems biology, and biomedical applications.

On June 20, 2025, the Tsinghua Southeast Asia Center hosted a distinguished Public Lecture at the Awan Auditorium, welcoming over 230 participants from academia, government, and industry. The event featured H.E. Prof. Stella Christie, Vice Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of Indonesia, and Prof. Chang Kai, Chair Professor at the School of Physics, Zhejiang University. From meticulous preparations — including special seating arrangements, high-quality sound systems, and VIP holding rooms — to the warm hospitality offered to guests, the event embodied professionalism and attention to detail. Registration began at 3:45 PM, followed by an official opening and welcoming remarks from Prof. Stella Christie, setting the tone for a stimulating academic exchange.

Light-induced Emergent Phenomena in Low-dimensional Materials

From June 15–20, 2025, leading researchers from around the world gathered at the Tsinghua Southeast Asia Center’s Awan Auditorium for an intensive five-day exploration into the frontier of light–matter interactions, titled Light-Induced Emergent Phenomena in Low-Dimensional Materials. The opening sessions began with in-depth theoretical discussions on symmetry-related phenomena and transitioned to advanced applications in magnetic materials, topological physics, and quantum devices. Presentations showcased groundbreaking advances, including light-induced exciton supersolids, momentum-space exciton mapping, and quantum two-dimensional coherent microscopy. These advances demonstrate the connections between fundamental theory and cutting-edge experimentation.

Tsinghua University Delegation Visit

Professor Liu Bibo, director of the Tsinghua Southeast Asia Center (Tsinghua SEA), Assistant Dean of Tsinghua University PBC School of Finance, and Tsinghua University PBC School of Finance delegation visited the center’s campus in Serangan, Denpasar, Bali, to strengthen academic and regional ties. Tsinghua SEA also included a broader exploration of the Kura Kura Bali Special Economic Zone. This zone is a hub for sustainable innovation and development.
